"Was really looking forward to checking this place out as I am a massive seafood fan and I had seen this billed as a pop up with a menu based on fresh catch of the day produce. First impressions were OK, the semi outdoor setting with the open kitchen and bar was good and it was busy which is always a good sign however concerns started to creep in as soon as we viewed the menu and were surprised and disappointed to notice a distinct lack of fish options!. For a restaurant called Fish Plaice there are few seafood staples and a surprising amount of steak, ribs, chicken livers, chicken wings from which to chose. Starters were disappointing a Pint of prawns were tasty but laborious, the bloody Mary mayo was good. Fish Goujons were a bit tasteless, Chicken Livers were fine but came a little tepid, onto the mains Lobster and Prawn hot dogs sounded much better than they were the lobster was grainy, the massive king prawns bland and the brioche buns over toasted, the one dish that was good was the Scallops with Bacon, seared apple and mash all aspects were good but the portion was closer to a starter with less than a rasher of bacon and 3 small scallops a side of roasted root vegetables bulked this out however given the price of these dishes I was really expecting more and better. Service was ok when ordering but we waited 30 mins for our bill as they could not work out what we had, eventually after threatening to leave the manager came over and tallied up our check with us telling him what we had? Overall if you would like to watch sport on the big screen and have a drink it might worth checking out, if you wish to eat good seafood, take a wander round to Candleriggs, go to City Merchant and get a seafood platter for 2 and see what fresh Scottish seafood and excellent service really looks like!"

"My friend found this Chinese restaurant on Google map and we decided to give it try based on the reviews shared. The price on the menu were quite reasonable. We were offer lunch set menu with a choice to choose 1 starter and 1 mains. I opted for the chicken and corn soup with shrimp fried rice. I loved both tasted exactly like how I have it back home. The chicken and corn soup was really good in my opinion (I ordered a second bowl) maybe the cold weather made me felt the bowl of soup is so comforting. Fried rice went really well with the chili oil that we ordered as well. Lastly, I must say the service is commendable. All the staffs servicing the table were very attentive and responsive to requests. They speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese too just my observation. I would highly recommend and personally I’ll come back to visit again."

"Gennaro’s is my local chippie, and I think the most popular in my opposite. I would never have tried until a few months ago, where they started a brand new vegan menu! I must confess that I have been going there almost every week since. they have, sausage, fish, haggis and black pudding all in vegan shapes and cooked in separate keepers from the meat products. they also have a vegan burger that I did not try, but if it is something like the rest, then it is delicious. the chips are great, which is a wonderful bonus. it's great to see a local business start offering good vegan options, especially in a range where the choices can be missing. I hope they start to offer a vegan pizza crunch, that would be amazing!"
