"That was great. there were some accidentally vegan dishes on the menu, but these are not clearly marked. the personal was helpful, although we had to explain briefly the difference between vegetarian and vegan."

"If they don't want to sit outside, they have tables in a room with beautiful atmosphere with bamboo theme. the personal is friendly and serviceminded. the vegan food was ok, but there was missing something beat for it to be delicious. they have more vegetarian options than vegan."

"Beautiful place a stone’s throw away from piazza del campo, lovely staff and amazing food. We had pici cacio e pepe, pasta al sugo piccante, tonno del Chianti, Vitello tonnato, fagioli all’uccelletto and roasted potatoes. Best food I’ve ever had… and I’m Italian. The service was very quick and it was all at a reasonable price."

"This is the restaurant that makes you think someone's Nonna is in the back cooking. The kind of place that seats two of you at a table for and has another couple join you. Comfortable, homey. Reasonably priced. I had a bowl of truffle...ravioli with a butter sauce that made the angels sing. Seriously, the most incredible bowl of pasta I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about it, almost a year later. My husband had pici with amatriciana, which was also incredible. We shared a salad. The bread was really good. House wine delicious. When I daydream about Italy, this place is the first stop my mind goes to for a meal."

"We visited Il Masgalano several times during our stay in Siena. This restaurant has the best of everything you need. It’s very popular among the locals so you end up being surrounded by Italians and they know how to create a great atmosphere. The food is very delicious and fresh and there are many different dishes to choose between. The staff is extremely kind, friendly and helpful when asking for the vegan options. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with several beautiful paintings by a local artist. So, if you are tired of the tourist restaurants, few minutes’ walk from the center will take you to this authentic Italian pearl."
