"How can this place get 4.5 out of 5. There's no resto only in the bar or on terrace of weather permits. Food is terrible but staff pleasant. Can't recommend if I try. Would I go back - sorry but no."

"We booked stating we were attending the jazz festival(i.e. Needed to be away by 8.30) we repeated this on arrival and on ordering yet we had to wait one hour from entry to service. This meant we had 30 mins to be served and eat the three course menu du jour (which it was recommended we ordered as that was the 'fastest' meal). Staff got more and more hassled. Sadly the maître d'hôtel was unsympathetic and lacked customer service skills. Food superb, beautifully presented and at a fair price in this region. Wine pricey (at the jazz cave we had the same wine for 50% of the price) Would go back but not when we attend the jazz next year!! Perhaps restaurant could consider offering a festival menu: entree & plat - simple choice and special service taking 'normal' dinners slightly later?"

"This was our third visit. Our first two led us to the conclusion that the quality of the food more than offset the rather average accommodation but this year the accommodation was very poor indeed. To be specific: the toilet seat was loose and there...was a leak from the base; the shower took ages to heat up; the shower head fixing was broken so we had to shower holding it with one hand; the shower tray filled up and the floor of the bathroom became soaked. The shower problems were reported but the only response was that we should let it run and it would heat up it did to be fair but the other issues made for a less than pleasant stay. That said, the restaurant was superb and we’d go there for a meal again. The steaks were ‘to die for’ and we certainly didn’t need a starter or a pudding. Shame about the bathroom!"
