"Wow today to disappoint the rain the turn in Dean Farm Trust Open Day was fantastic! There were over 13 rows of 20 cars at the time we left at 2:30. We arrived at 10:45 and had to wait until 11:15 in the cars before we were allowed to go in. Until then there were already 3 car rows. Every car had about 3 people on average. It came in more than we left. Surely there were 1000 people today. So glad we just went for pizza and Vic's cookies and cakes when we came from looking for all animals, there was a huge snake at pizza and Vic sold their 200 cupcakes, 6 cakes and 100 cookies. It was a big event for the animals. There were food stands and things stalls. Viva Vegan stable. Everything on a sanctuary that had real animals that were all saved by the battle. It was amazing. I've never seen a sheep run to people, but Eric and April were so friendly. They licked food from my hand. I was afraid, but they were so gentle. Also the ponies had come to us and I fed them grass that was scary for me when I was afraid they would bite my fingers. But I did it. So many different types of pigs. Some small and short other huge and large. Not sure what kind of mother was, the 5 piglets were born, but they were kind to me when I asked. You don't mind being touched. Some of the other pigs run together while mud flew everywhere. Turkey has never seen a turkey before. All animals had so much space. So much room to run. They are so well looked after here, everyone has a name and a personality who knows the staff. We saw some beautiful cows on the neighboring property that looked at us, and one of the trustees told us they were on the way to be slaughtered. How sad. I think it was a fantastic idea not only to bring money to the trust, but to make people more aware that the best place for a vegan festival is on a sanctuary. Great work with it!"

"I've been coming here for a while. as it turned out, my family has come a lot longer, although we had lunch on Sunday, that was delicious. must really go back a night for a meal, as their other dishes also look good! regularly jump in for a pint and a package of fight and watch the day go through sat on the river. sometimes they also have live music, plus look for sammy the seal from time to time!"

"Always eat at Mango House in Chepstow, the owner and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, the Chutneys are really fresh and the great garlic nan is beautiful, much better than I had otherwise over the years. It is worth a visit and advisable to book for a weekend as it is busy. They also offer Takeaway. It's a good value."
