"We asked at our hotel for a recommendation of a restaurant with good local food, and they recommended this one. When we looked at the menu, we almost walked out just a few items, nothing familiar, and nothing sounded very appetizing. My husband is more daring than I am, so he asked the waiter (owner? for his recommendations. He brought us three dishes. The first was FRICO. It looked like a pillow and was described as potatoes and cheese. In fact, it was an absolutely delicious concoction of cheese curds melted inside a light crust made of grated potatoes and onions. Don't know if it is baked or fried, but it was amazing. The second dish was slabs of salami and carmelized onions, also excellent and totally unexpected. And the third was a bean dish with large white beans cooked in a spicy tomato sauce. I googled FRICO to see how it was made, and found a very interesting description of this traditional dish. This was one of the most unusual dinners I have ever had, and one of the best."

"I was brought here due to the chef’s reputation. the food met my lofted expectations. The further my drive from Venice the more questions I had about the internal ambiance. Alas, the internal atmosphere on entry was fresh, contemporary and nearly warm. I loved their use of carpets and wall art. The tables specifically felt a bit hard (or was it too many). The chairs were comfortable for the entire 2 hour sitting. The lighting had a few “hot spots” so we elected no to sit on one location under a bright light. What I didn’t like: the Music. Rap has no place in a restaurant. That was the first track I noticed. Thank goodness it changed off that after a while but the whole evening was overly loud, base heavy pop rock. It brought energy and may well be enjoyable for the young crowd. But I (in my 50s) was more interested in conversation with my friends and letting the food alone bring the energy. Tip for mgmt: try alternative rock (eg broken bells) and turn it down a bit. What I liked: the Food For appetizers we shared frico, a local dish of potato, cheese, polenta and oh so good. We also shared a plate of prosciutto. This was complemented with sweet breed for a balanced sweet and salt in each bite. For the main, I enjoyed the veal chop. The cookery was perfect and well seasoned. Each bite moist and delicious. My friends enjoyed pork shoulder. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable."
