"Lovely Japanese restaurant run by what I believe to be a Japanese family. Seems never to be busy or full to have a table and eat inside but the kitchen is preparing takeout all the time and people come and go to pick up their orders. Really nice service and most important the food is great! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"We have been to the Cantina probably 4 times over a number of years. Each time we had good food, good value, good service. So a few days ago we went again. Not good. I had entrecote, the most expensive dish, with tagatelli. I order steak rare, it was rare but hard to eat, I had it cooked a bit more, slightly better result. The tagletelli was all done up in a bundle, had to cut it into chunks to eat. My wife had breaded veal with tagletelli. The veal was better, tagletelli was the same. My tiriamasu pud was really good. The waiter, perhaps the owner could see I was displeased. I told him all I have said here. He gave me the pud for no charge, I had not asked for a reduction, I just wanted him to know the problems. I suspect that chef has changed or some other problem. The trouble is that now, I am not keen to go back. It is not just me, I see other comments are similar. The restaurant business is tough, if things go wrong, there is really very little that can be done. People are easilly put off."

"My wife & I went here when it opened and thought that the service and food was nervously offered up as though it was being run by amateurs, perhaps opening jitters.The food was mediocre, luke warm and uninviting or imaginative.My friends who had not yet been, invited us for the second time and we went sheepishly, not to spoil their expectations.We weren't disappointed.......it was worse. Anyone who enjoys dining out might consider going to McDonalds round the corner instead of here. To serve soggy popcorn as part of a mixed platter starter took me to the fair. I wont go on about the rest.......awful.Either the manager is off on holiday or profits come before sensibility. Complaints are shrugged off like water off a ducks back........so needless too say (unlike ARNIE) we wont be BACK."
