"I always had a soft spot for Steak 'n Shake. It was one of my favorite treats as a child many years ago. This location is quite convenient for travelers on us 63 and Interstate 70. I found the restaurant clean every time I visited and the staff were helpful. The food was just the quality you expected. They still make steak burgers, have the thin french fries and a rather expansive menu of shaking and freezing. The dining area is 1950s retro as all its locations."

"Every time I order from them they forget my chips so I finally called to tell them that they forgot the chips and they said No we didn 't we checked the cameras they 're in the bag . Now why would I lie about that? Also you didn 't rewind and check your cameras boy.. Also put me on hold to act like he was doing something else. Horrible.."

"The food was ok, however, the manager had a stick very far up somewhere away from any tree. It was noon and we were the only car, as this Hardees has been dying for years now. The kid at the window asked if I would pull up away from the window. I said I would pull up if another car came in behind me, no problem. Thinking I am doing them a favor. So after about 5 min. of waiting, the manager, I assume as he was the only one working old enough to drive opens the window and in his best tough guy voice asks me is there a reason I didn 't pull up away from the window. I tried to tell him about my previous discussion but he spoke over me letting me know I was standing on his time whatever that means, and to pull forward. Very rude. I had already paid and we were hungry so I pulled forward. When the little girl brought our food he loomed at the door as if he was some bouncer poised for some big problem, I 'm thinking... Then why send a little girl? Tough guys. Gotta love them. While leaving the parking lot noticed the manager 's car. I 'm assuming, as he seemed to be the only one old enough to drive. It had paper temp tags that were only 8 months expired. This got me thinking The person running what once was a couple of million dollars a year restaurant isn 't making enough money to take care of little things like auto insurance and tags. Little kids are what the money they pay brings in. I lost the disdain for this young man and realized I would probably have a stick somewhere if the roles were reversed. So I come to the truth of this review. The truth is Hardees sucks their corporate greed and employees ' last policies are why it sucks. None of my fellow Americans that are in the predicament of having to work there or all the thousands of places just like it are to blame. Places like this can 't die soon enough, only America 's waistline will be diminished from their extinction."
