"We decided to stop by while we were visiting the visitor's center. The food was good but not great. The food is a little expensive and the facility really needs an update. Service was alright. The location is great, if the food was better it would be perfect."

"This coffee shop was the perfect before Joshua Tree NP pick me up. They have a clean bathroom and the stand is set up outside the store front to be safe. Staff was friendly and efficient and I didn't need to wait long at all for my latte. I picked up 3 whole bean bags for home. We've already enjoyed ours, my parents loved the decaf beans and we still have one to give for a gift. Plus, their logo is pretty awesome and their cups and shirts would make a fun gift from the area."

"Eating is amazing. they have quiche, muffins, coffee, sandwiches and great suppe. I love the chicken panini and the meatball soup. rosie is great."

"Don't tell people about this place because it is sooo good. There was a line for lunch and it was deserved. Our Pasties had crust that was just the right level of flakiness. And the fillings were delectable."

"I hired a quick purchase of crackers here to go with some things we bought on the farmer market that goes right outside. they were a little expensive, but it's still super cool to see a place, wearing as many vegan foods in a small city as this!"

"There is a rotating menu always with a vegetarian and can be made vegan. We had a salad and vegetable burger. I stopped for tea, too. We are. It is nice that there is another possibility and that the Retreat Center made the kitchen open to the public. Comfortable to JT and YV- easy from the 62 mainly westbound. Double the hours. Also, check their schedule of classes for meditation, yoga and special events."

"I really enjoy the hummus wrap and the sides are quite good as well. Very healthy and delicious. Higher prices as this is a tourist town. The only improvement would be going 100% vegan!"

"Really used to love this place. Always open. Decently priced late night food. Super convenient being a J-tree local. But after five years and countless second chances, I can 't do it anymore. Not usually one to complain about fast food, I have worked in the field myself and I am generally pretty understanding. But out of the past five times that I 've decided you know what, let 's see if it 's different , it has only declined and I have gotten sick to my stomach 4 of those times, this last time being the worst. I actually had to hop out of my car to vomit a couple hours after eating the carne asada fries. Soggy, half cooked fries, pools of grease and so bland I had to dump about seven little containers of hot sauce on it just to get some flavor that wasn 't cheese. Leaving this review because I really worry about this place getting a child or elderly person severely ill from their clear lack of effort and sanitation. $18 for food poisoning just isn 't worth it. I really hope this place gets their act together some day, but I will not be going back and plan on actively steering folks away from this place when they visit for their own safety. Getting sick like that on a back country hike in the National park can get you killed. Honestly, at this point I am just hoping they close up, scrape the property and let food trucks post up there to sell tacos."
