"We used to be a guest at the old Grade several times. The current Grade has been on our wish list for a while. Unfortunately we left with a disappointing feeling. How cozy the building in the Ch. the cemetery avenue was how bleak was this. Apart from a blooming orchid at the bar, there was not a candle plant on any table. We ordered two aperitifs (gin and vodka tonic) and were served in sponsored glasses with no bite. Consequently, we drank it empty with our starter and were not asked about drink with the starter. The starters (salmon toast and scampi fritti) were tasty without question, but were rather made for sharing. With our main course we ordered a glass of wine instead of a bottle to spread over VG and HG. Côte à l'os was tasty, correct but a little under-seasoned. Of course on the expensive side. We know many places where we can get a better meal with better service in a nicer setting for the same budget. With pain in our hearts we have to conclude that our expectations were too high. The old grade is no more. The skill of the chef is beyond dispute because everything is freshly made, but this does not justify the (high) price. Unfortunately, we have to conclude that this is not a more worthy successor to the previous Grade."
