"It was wonderful to have fresh tasty good food today at Mad Park... satisfying :) We had fish tacos which were really good. We split the crumble and that still seemed too much for us and a tad sweet although we usually cook with little sugar. I heard the hamburgers are amazing and all the food we saw carried past us all looked appetizing... wish we were around longer to try more. Atmosphere was nice, clean, great art, quick service and our meal made with care and presented well. Service after we had our meal disappeared, but they were friendly when we asked for more water and later dessert. I would prefer to sit and relax, order, get our meal, and then pay versus paying like a fast food restaurant at the beginning esp in the off season when it isn't that busy. May be this is easiest for the busy summer coming up."

"After traveling the windy beautiful lake side road, you arrive at the very colourful John Henry's! The bright colours and picturesque setting catch your eye immediately. The general store is packed full of interesting goodies, souvenir items plus food and drinks. We went to...the cafe for brunch on the patio overlooking the harbour. The waitress we had was very nice and service was great! Best fish n chips in the area, honestly the fries were to die for (they were rosemary sea salt) MMMMM. A perfect spot for any time of day!"

"LaVerne's Grill located in Garden Bay Hospital Bay and accessible by road and water has been operated by the same owner-chef for 16 years and is still popular. It is not open during winter but once open it quickly becomes a busy spot. There is an excellent breakfast with fresh -free range eggs prepared to perfection. The specialty as expected is fish, excellent ling cod.. One can also get a decent burger. For desert there is a variety of ice creams. The decor is simple rustic. This place was also the first internet cafe in the area. The prices are moderate.. One can eat in or take out. The place tries to close in the early evening. They will not prevent you to get in even if you come minutes before closing time and you will be served."
