"I cried here because I was told that they served catfish and eggs as part of their menu. I thought it was something unusual. The place was busy. I was on Saturday at 10:00. Around the kitchen was pretty good. Many orders. Parking may be small from the street, but it is deep. Let's go. More parking is available on the next property. What I got was a catfish plate (12.99) with over simple eggs. Eggs were made perfect. I also had a few grits: pretty glands. It's just with a margarine upstairs. This led to the most interesting moment of meal where I had an argument with my gastronomic companion who said I should add Marmelade. My grits. I told him that was evil and I would never do it like that or oats. I chose toast and that was good. The fish was prepared with the dry flour method. It was pretty good very humid and delicate, and the real deal was not the stuff from Asia that is passed on as it. I also ordered a meat lover taco (7.99). It had ham, sausage and a few bacon. The tortilla was good, but all Taco had too little egg and too much potato. Too strong for me. Service was good and we don't go to the counter to pay our meal. Overall I think It was a decent place to have breakfast, but I wouldn't make it a point to rave over it."

We don't eat out very often, as we like to cook ourselves, so when we do go, we pick something really good. Athena's is really good. Really really good. I've tried various things on the menu, and everything, from the appetizers to the mains to the deserts, all of the dishes are outstanding. Portion sizes are ample. Huge, really. I'm impressed if you can eat the whole thing. Most of us mere mortals will be taking home lunch for the next day. The gyros are really only gyros, but c'mon folks, Greek food is more than gyros. Expand your thinking and menu choices a little, and you'll start to understand why this restaurant gets rave reviews. Be sure to check the sign for Specials on the way in, you won't regret it. The entire place is immaculately clean. The service is amazing, a family restaurant that makes you feel like you are part of the family too. Everyone we have ever taken here has gone back on their own. We return over and over again because the whole experience is so much fun, and have chosen to celebrate birthdays and other events here. Occasionally it will get a little boisterous when a large group is celebrating an event. I consider this a feature, not a bug. So nice to be in an establishment owned by real people, with real events and real fun. If you are looking for Chili's and other Sysco-style food establishments, this may not be the place for you. If you are looking for an authentic Greek-style experience, this is the place to go."
