"On arrival one receptionist at desk taking bookings on computer/telephone, long wait, didn 't feel at all welcomed. Food good. Service at table good but not attentive after food was served. At times no staff in Bistro at all. Coffee in drawing room good but lack of staff presence and warmth. Room lacks atmosphere and is full. No one to show us how to get to drawing room. Whole experience lacked warmth. Lack of ambience throughout. Been before and had a better experience but on Saturday 's experience I would think twice before returning."

"A very warm welcome in a lovely, cosy establishment. Our food was very good quality but items were missing from the plates when they were brought to the table. My husband ordered the turkey meal that was missing the stuffing balls. I ordered the belly pork which was missing the baked apple and scratching. We did mention this to the staff member and the missing items were provided later when we were halfway into the meal. Although everything was delicious, we would have liked the whole meal at the same time and temperature. We definitely will return though as we are fully aware that staff are human and mistakes can happen from time to time.
