"I want to start this review by noting the good things about our meal. The food is excellent. My husband had the smoked chicken wings, and I had the pickeral special. Lovely flavour and beautiful views of the harbour. I have to unfortunately mention the terrible service we had. We were not greeted at all, despite having a reservation and had to seat ourselves. We were then given a drink menu and a kid's menu - no regular food menu. When the waitress asked for our food order, she was perturbed that we didn't know what we wanted (she had NOT given us a food menu.) My husband had to get up and get a menu from a pile that he saw by the bar. When I asked what kind of wines they had, I was rudely asked "red or white?" I asked what kind of white wine they stocked, and she told me she had "no idea what they had." We also had my two year old son with us - having a kid's menu, I figured it would be a kid friendly restaurant. I was wrong. The waitress became so perturbed with my son being there, that I had to leave early and let my husband settle the bill. It was unfortunate as we were staying in one of the cabins at the lodge which was very nice; however, the service at the restaurant really cast a bad light on the entire experience. Will not be back."

"We were recommended to Tailwinds by local realtor Geoff Hayes, and he was spot on. We took a patio table, and we're rewarded with a marina, a seaplane landing, and a train passing on the trestle bridge.Our server was a young firecracker by the name of Jessica. She was extremely attentive and was on her A game, the service was excellent, the food was terrific and flavorful. Great value here."
