"We stopped for coffee in Gisors (avoiding the toll route to from Paris to Calais) and this salon window caught our eye.I should confess that cakes and pastries are one our of families primary delights and we often seek them out and so the display...provided by Salon de The drew us in. Sometimes, the choice of one cake per person just isn't enough, especially when confronted the exquisite and tempting range available here. In addition, they make there own chocolates so what could we do but spend euros on cakes, coffees and a box of chocs, (as a present not to eat there We were completely blown away by the flavours,and textures, in fact it sent us into such raptures two young ladies from the kitchen came in and smiled at us obviously pleased that their craft had made us so happy. I admit that I am no expert when it comes to the art of producing cakes and pastries, but these were some of the best I have ever eaten. If this is an example of the typical standard available in France, then all I can say is lucky them and vive la France! Please, if you're passing through, do yourselves and your taste-buds a favour and stop here."

"We loved the mystery of the alleys in the wood, the atmosphere but it is also a restaurant! We had a wonderful table for 2 overlooking nothing much but really enjoyable. We were there for lunch and we had the duck with apricots, it is...what you call a very expensive light lunch, desert is too pricey too. Go for the atmosphere but not hungry! Service: they are young and willing but they lack what it takes: common sense in serving. One of them dropped the bread in my husband's sauce but instead of changing it , she puts it in the plate???the reason was she was not standing at the right place!!! If you charge a lot you should provide this kind of service!"
