"When they are in dove cottage, I recommend to eat here at lunchtime. my wife had the fish chips that were great. I had one of their originals: with thunfish, mushrooms, crispy speck and roasted Mediterranean vegetables her rake is covered with rodunder, cheddar and goat cheese. an excellent meal after a morning in the dove cottage!"

"The black is wonderful! if they would visit more grassy, I would recommend 100% one visit, it is a more regular for my every time I am in the central seen! the location is absolutely beautiful, a 5 minute walk from the center of grasmere itself! the building is beautiful and aswell as a huge menu they have a great selection of beer, gins and ales! it is welcoming and have really great, friendly and professional employees! if they have luck sitting outside, they are greeted with an absolutely amazing out view! I'm pretty sure they have rooms too."

"Excellent eating and friendly, accommodating staff. we were a group of 8 and had not reserved, but we were happy to get a table. the food came at the same time, piping hot, and we all tasted the dishes and couldn't owe it. the best meals we had all vacations in the lakes and thanks for keeping children!"

"Beautiful hotel, very comfortable with afternoon tea of scones and coffee / tee an additional bonus. room spacious and shower water always hot, not always the case I found in the lake district. breakfast quality good, my one would be recommended to change the hot meal times on the menu, one of us was a vegetarian and we stayed for 6 nights and the same vegetarian breakfast for each day was a little limited, would have done with adding pancake, waffeln or omelets as alternative than a bit variety."
