"4 people dined , 3 had carvery, 1 asked for gluten free menu, she was given the tablet to look through, they forgot' to return to take order , only thing available was a salad, comprising of lettuce leaves , 3 mini tomatoes and brown edged lettuce . Spoilt the whole experience"

"We had a lovely meal here. Don't let the position of the establishment put you off. The food choices were varied and different which waa refreshing. Everything was well cooked and some delicious sauces. Both the set meal and a la carte were good value. Service was good and we walked away at the end of the night talking about what lovely fare we had consumed. Would really recommend a visit."

"Before I write this review, I would like to mention that I would have preferred to message the manager directly as I know reviews can impact the business, however I could not find any other way other than phone, which I 'd prefer not to do after the experience I recieved in the shop last night. After placing our order at 7pm, it was almost 3.5 hours before we finally recieved out food, and this was only because I decided to go and pick the food up myself as enough was enough! Due to the current COVID situation, I was expecting a wait of around 2 hours due the business which is expected. The estimated delivery time was initially 1hr 30, however was then reduced to 1hr 20, which made me hopeful that the delivery may not be as long as first thought. Almost 2.5hrs after placing the order, I phoned the shop to enquire, to be told that the order was being prepared would be out in the next delivery. Almost 3.5 hrs after placing the delivery, I phoned back, to be told again that my order was being prepared in the kitchen . By this point I requested to speak to the manager. The manager did apologise, and offered me 50% discount on my next order, which was generous however unfortunately after the disgusting service I received, I will not be ordering from here again. This is a shame as I have in the past enjoyed a takeaway from here. I was repeatedly told the same response that they had received a high influx of orders. I advised the manager that if this was the case, they should have stopped the orders. Apparently they had done this and was still catching up with the back log. If this is the case, then clearly they should have frozen the orders beforehand. It would even have been a good gesture to have contacted customers to apologise for the long delay, and update them of an expected long waiting time! After this conversation, I asked if it would be quicker and easier to collect the takeaway myself, as I could not wait much longer it was 10:30pm by this point. I had been up since 4:30am for work, and had work the following day, so I did not want to wait much longer. I was offered a £5 refund to cover the delivery cost and petrol money for having to collect myself, which is fair enough. I would also like to point out that I was very polite and understanding on the phone during this. Upon entering the shop, the customer service which I recieved was appalling. The 2 people behind the front desk did not seem to be at all apologetic about the poor service I had recieved, infact they were almost joking about the situation. When I informed them of my address and order, I was told it had wrongly been given to the delivery driver (despite being on the phone 10 minutes previously agreeing to collect the order). This could have been a disaster, however the delivery driver luckily hadn 't left the carpark yet. The person serving me seemed quite jovial and did not seem to understand the severity of the poor service. The other colleague began reading out the order and said it SHOULD all be there . After the whole ordeal he did not seem certain, and could have had the courtesy of checking the order to make sure. He then went on to ask to just ring if something was missing. I thought this was quite cheeky in the circumstances! I left the shop feeling very upset, hungry and generally angry at how bad we had been treated as paying customers. Also by the time we got home, the food was cold, and was not really appetising at all. This was disappointing after the good food we have previously received from them. I would like to note that I am not looking for a full refund here. I would just like the owner of the takeaway to realise how poor their service is, and I hope this is improved in future for the sake of future customers. I understand that they were very busy, however it could have been avoided, and I am more upset about the poor attitude I recieved after going out of my way to pick the order up! Waiting almost 4 hours for a delivery was just not acceptable"
