"I had root plants tagine that was a few slices of butternut quash, some cubes of jazz then only cricket and swirl in a fat tomato sauce. I would expect there to be more root vegetables! my man had the tart that was almost gummy....He mentioned it to the waitress, showed her some of the tart and asked if it should be. she said she would ask the cook, but she didn't mention anything about him for the rest of the evening. I ordered a chocolate brew for dessert, which was served without chocolate sauce, as it is listed on the menu. since it was served without the sauce, was very dry. we didn't want to complain for the second time, we just decided not to go back. I am aware that if we have said something, then we may have to wait until the meal is redissolved and we wanted to eat together. there was really a lack of vegan options a choice that was an salat. I have seen that this has been treated in previous posts that go back a few years, but seems nothing to do with it."

"Went for dinner last night. The restaurant...and the hotel...is a shadow of its former self with skeleton staff and the staff who did attend were the dedicated few. Basically, this place is being run down by its owner which is a crying shame as it has a wonderful history and is in a prime location in historic Derby city centre. A real disappointment. Hope it can be turned around. Well done to Gemma and Tyrone who were on duty last night, who did their best for us under difficult circumstances. Don't know who the chef was but she did not meet our expectations, sorry."

"Being regular visitors to the Blacksmiths yard we've been wanting to give The Palfrey a try for a couple of months so took the opportunity to go there on Friday lovely place, fantastic decor and great menu. Food was excellent and the service the same. Nice relaxing unrushed atmosphere that we will be sampling again. Highly recommend you give this place a try."
