"We discovered amparo residencial at our first night in machico we had already eaten at that time and decided to try it later in the week. my wife loves kalimares and unfortunately did not order this court as she was expected (fried...in slightly broken rings) and she felt that she could not eat the court. we explained the waitress that my wife (for her) had made a wrong choice and could prepare another court our debt completely and we would pay for the wasted court. the personal was great and prepared a dish of chicken breast and mushroom I had already selected thunfisch steak, which came with fried mais and salat. we both enjoyed the dishes and the Irish coffee followed. when the bill came, the restaurant had not charged us for the ingredient that was very friendly and they refused to take the cost of the remunerated meal when it was offered."

"We’d read some write ups on the internet that really rated this restaurant so we made a special trip there and was really looking forward to something special. It was decidedly average and the staff seemed really grumpy which was a shame. My husband had...the espitadas which were okay and I had the fish which was really dry and tasted like it had been reheated. Wouldn’t bother with this restaurant when there are so many other fantastic restaurants for traditional food in the area."
In nice weather you can even eat and drink in the outdoor area.

"The pound cake was a very filling and generous portion size and flavored with ample amounts of orange zest, which, together with the moderate sweetening of the cake, gave a honey-like taste. The cake itself was fluffy, flaking into somewhat damp crumbles with every bite, falling off like the petals of a wilted flower in the wind. The Citrus aftertaste from the orange zest would linger in the mouth for even dozens of minutes. Chinesa is a Madeiran name for coffee with milk, which was mild and very delicious with the pound cake."
