"We arrived without a reservation but they readily accomodated us , a party of 6. There are 3 set menus, all were reasonably priced. I had the gourmet menu and the portions were huge. My starter of a mixed salad was delicious. The other starter of garlic prawns was equally yummy - 5 big prawns. The mains were well cooked and very delicious. I had the turbot expecting a piece. Instead I got a whole turbot, grilled and served with a butter sauce! It was really fresh . There was hardly room for dessert but we managed to fit them in. Difficult choices but all were wonderful.Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this restaurant. Simple good food cooked to perfection."

"These are 2 brothers who own this restaurant in Ascain whose specialty is fish One of the best in the Basque Coast Quality service and all dishes are accompanied by a sublime sauce I took the Parillada with 3 fish , 2 gambas , chipirons and knives , to fall on land Peppers garnished and copied As a episcopurian mm the menu of the wines certainly limited is well chosen including a fruity and pleasant Argentinian wine at the excellent palate In short a very good value quality price Careful Brother Server We'll be back PHILIPPE MARYSE"

"We stayed here for five nights and ate in the hotel restaurant for three of them. We loved the elegant table settings, the charming service and, of course, the excellent food. Do try the fillet de boef - perfectly cooked, well seasoned and with lovely accompaniments. When I read a couple of negative reviews I had to check that we were talking about the same place! Contrary to one review I think the food here is much better than the Lastiry opposite."
In beautiful weather you can even eat and drink in the outdoor area.

"Wait for more than 10 minutes before you have the card, at least 10 minutes to order and then more than 30 minutes to finally receive the aperitif.... it’s long! Alas this does not stop there It has yet to wait for eternity to receive the dishes When did the remark, an older lady the boss? occupied at the restaurant and not at the bistro, accelerates things and finally brings us the plates itself. Thank you very much Madam without you I fear that we still have to wait much longer while according to a person in the kitchen the dishes waited in the pass-plat Effectiveness of service when you stand us ...for the waitress and especially the almost nonexistent server that turns out to be the boss As for the kitchen....just any... a cassolette of chipirons fade the rest tartare of truite, pluma ibérique, St Pierre and burger fries not peeled... Even if it seems to be fashionable it is difficult to accept for any Belgians without being bad Brief can do better especially in the room"
