"This is just trying far to hard!!! It is a country pub, and they have made the interior much nicer, but the menu is ridiculous. For example, one of the Main courses reads Venison Soil Moss twigs fern Soil is apparently some kind of dark chocolate mixture with the texture of soil, moss is rehydrated spinach (I think) twigs are some kind of scandi dessert.... and I didn't get any further as I don't want to eat this. I had Cauliflower, hazlenuts ..... which turned out to be a risotto, though you wouldn't know from the menu. It was perfectly pleasant, but did not taste particularly of cauliflower and was a starter sized portion, even though it was a main. Also, strangely for such pretension, the bread was all slices of (a perfectly pleasant) white loaf no innovation there at all for a restaurant with such pretensions. I mean really, who wants to eat stuff like this thankfully it went out of fashion about a decade ago. We just want honest, nicely presented food and a menu that does not require an explanation for every dish. That said, everyone was friendly and pleasant and the interior is nice, with a garden. Such a pity they want to serve this kind of stuff it could have been a lovely find...and it just wasn't"

"Jack's restaurant is set in very pretty countryside which makes a lovely setting especially for Sunday Lunch. The food is very good, well presented and excellent value. Their menu is small but offers an excellent variety of freshly prepared ingredients. The dining area and bar seem a little austere but there is plenty of room and the service is also very good. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family."

"Amazing garden center, a good consisted of ground and more unusual plants and seeds. plus an extensive gift shop farm shop. the plants are the cheapest overall, but many God value options beside more premium elements. we were impressed by the electric car that was charged free from its own solar energy. beautiful surprise, as we had not realized that the load was available."

"We came on a voucher offer. The service and ambience were most impressive. Waitress delightful, helpful and made our evening. The amuse bouches were not tasty but pea and ham soup was fine, these two offerings were non optional,so the advertised six course menu only offered three choices. Starters interesting and enjoyable. Only three main courses without £12.50 supplement. Mains needed vegetable accompaniments, a charge of £4 for 8 new potatoes was steep! We felt at least one veg option should have been included in price. Desserts/cheese delicious. Overall would have felt hard done by if we had paid full whack. Drinks prices extortionate fortunately had been forewarned, however £23 for two vodka and tonics was ludicrous. Wine prices at expected level. Sorry at London prices for drinks we will not be coming again. Did not feel this offered true value for money."
