"I came to Kovalam twice and both times I had dinner at Annam. the food is really excellent, typically Indian, but it also meets the needs of Europeans who prefer less spicy food. There are a lot of restaurant in Kovalam but I’m sure that this one is the best!"

"This place is actually quite expensive. but since it is part of a hotel, it is quite neat. the seating possibilities are also very good, with beautiful ambiente. the personal is well managed, even if they have made our order a little, I added the menu here because I could not find the menu in older reviews, they could take a look at it before entering it. the coffee was good, but at 175 I don't think it's worth the price. also the kartoffel wedges were good, but again expensive. it could not try a proper meal as they have meal times to do with expensive snacks."

"This is a small place, with good, vegetarian, homemade food. The couple who runs the restaurant are very sweet people and they personally cook and serve the food. Highly recommend for all vegetarians. Also, do try the pizza here."

"The best thing about The ANNAM RESTAURANT and the SEA SAND rooms above, in addition to its beach front location exceptional value for money, are without doubt the fabulous hosts Wilfred Christopher along with their team. You are instantly made to feel like an old friend and nothing is too much trouble. They provide an excellent service from dawn until late into the night with a lot of great humour and loads of laughs. The food they serve at the Annam Vegetarian Restaurant below the rooms is exceptional, with an extended menu choice offering delicious fish meat and snack options for Sea Sand guests all at amazing value for money using the freshest and best quality ingredients(the chef was even happy to share his recipes with me. The breakfast which was included was fantastic (you could have it at any time and it extended to just about anything on the menu, or even things that weren’t. On a couple of occasions I had a banana honey dosa which was yummy, all served with great coffee, mugs of which were delivered to my room by Wilfred first thing in the morning. The room I had was massive with a huge bed with the best mattress I’ve slept on ever, let alone in India. There was a very efficient fan, loads of storage space and a nice outside seating area. The location is at the heart of Lighthouse Beach so you are at the center of everything and about 20 steps from the beach itself. I loved it here, can’t wait for my next visit and would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. These rooms have only just opened this season so don’t be put off by the lack of reviews. It’s a fabulous place."
