"I used to frequent this place as it was close by and convenient; also quite well priced.I kinda got used to it, until i tried some other places: tuna sashimi, apparently is NOT brown? Who knew. It should be a healthy pink tone, you shouldn't have to hardly chew it, and it should go down like butter. It should melt on your tongue.This place serves their tuna sashimi cut in long rectangular sheet like pieces. Rubber eraser texture, and a beige colour, with dark brown in vein areas. And it smells "fishy"... fresh sushi should hardly smell at all. The quality of their fish is not good nor has it ever been fresh. It was not a one time experience, it has always been poor quality.Other items, like tempura or stir-fry or any veggie sushi are not too shabby. Very fair price and friendly, competent staff, but go elsewhere for seafood items. Miso is quite good too, but stay away from fish items. Better to pay a bit more and enjoy it."

"The chef always greets my partner and i with a big smile when we walk through the door, and the staff are always very friendly which is why we tend to go here. The sushi is good, I wouldn't really even put it in my top 5 but if you're craving sushi and a pleasant experience, I would recommend Akemi."
