"Ein Ausflug auf den Bachtel ist immer ein lohnendes Ausflugsziel, über die eigene Webcam können die lokalen Wetterverhältnisse überprüft werden. Der Bachtel kann auf verschiedenen interessanten Wegen zu Fuss, mit dem Bike und auch mit dem Auto erreicht werden (20% Steigung)! Nebst der tollen Aussicht in die Berge kann man sich im Restaurant Bachtel Kulm auch sehr gut verpflegen. Ab 9 Uhr gibt es ein feines Frühstück nach Wahl, danach sind diverse Speisen erhältlich, die Speisekarte auf der Webseite gibt darüber Auskunft.Bei unserem letzten Aufenthalt am 31.12.16/1.1.17 haben wir ein ausgezeichnet zubereitetes Silvestermenü genossen. Die neuen Pächter und ihre Mitarbeitenden haben uns sehr zuvorkommend bedient, auch bei diesem hektischen Silvester-Betrieb wurden unsere Sonderwünsche, wie glutenfreie Speisen, problemlos erfüllt."

"Went for lunch. Food was good and service was efficient but the welcome was brusque to say the least, quite offhand if not directly rude. A restricted menu at lunchtime but enough of a choice and the food was actually very good."

"Wir suchten ein nettes Restaurant in der Region und wurden im Internet fündig. Homepage und telefonischer Kontakt klangen sympatisch. Für 4 Personen einen Tisch reserviert und nichts wie hin. Schon von aussen machtt der Ochsen eine sauberen, gepflegten Eindruck. Vom Parkplatz durch den Seiteneingang gelangt man in die heimelige Gaststube. Freundlich wurde uns ein Tisch im Gastraum oder im Ochsenstübli angeboten. Aus der variantenreichen Speisenkarte haben wir uns für ein Tagesmenu entschieden: Kalbssteaks mit Gemüsebeilage und Pommes frites; mit Vorspeisensuppe und Blattsalat, sowie einen reichhaltigen bunten Gemüseteller.Sowohl die schöne Portion Blattsalat, wie auch die Haferflöcklisuppe haben hervorragend geschmeckt. Da waren wir sicher, dass auch die Hauptspeisen uns nicht enttäuschen werden. Die schön präsentierten und superheissen Teller mit den butterzarten Kalbssteaks und 5 Sorten Gemüse und Pommes frites waren ein Gedicht. Das Gemüse nicht einfach «Null-acht-fünfzehn» sondern winterliche Gemüse wie Fenchel, Rosenkohl, Lauch, Kohl, Karotten. Der bunte Gemüseteller sowohl optisch wie kulinarisch ein fantastische Palette aus 10 verschiedenen Gemüsen. Da haben wir wirklich einen Volltreffer gelandet. Wir kommen wieder, wenn wir in der Gegend sind."
