"We had an overnight in St. Catharines and my wife remembered this restaurant from the past. It is not very big with about 50 seats. I started with a nice Pino Grigio to go with our garlic bread and the relish tray with pickle spears, black olives and seasoned cold rice.As my main course I decided to go for the special, chain pickerel (a pike like fish). It was pan seared, nicely seasoned and very good. It came with carrots, asparagus and wonderful roasted potatoes. A very good cappuccino (that passed the spoon test) was a good finish of this wonderful meal.It is not an inexpensive restaurant, but is really worth a visit."

"Having been there before a few times, I was looking forward to a nice late lunch with my 13 year old grandson who loved their cuisine. we arrived late so were stuck with the dinner menu in a totally empty restaurant. I did notice some of the chairs needed some TLC as the vinyl seats and backs were well worn. The food was fine but the service was terrible. The restaurant remained empty during our meal but the two waitresses on duty gave very poor service even though we were out of their sight. They chatted endlessly at the bar without so much as a check to see how we were doing or if we wanted more food. I left a meagre tip and told them we wouldn't be back."

"I've been going to Lakeport Fish and Chips for many years but recently they changed their chips from unsalted to salty yet no one in my family likes salty chips. When I politely asked if I could have my chips unsalted they said no. So...now I go to another fish and chip shop, Beamsville, near where I live, and get my unsalted chips from there. What's great is that they offer to salt them if you so desire. So you can have them either way. But when I asked Lakeport if they'd do this they refused. Very disappointing."

"Excellent for asian and caribbean groceries and dry goods, incense, interesting spices and seasonings. Patties and pineapple pop is our favourite snack. Try anything they cook on premises each day. Always delicious and cheap. Better than drive-thru for a quick meal. Love this place."

"Called ahead for take-out, which they said would be ready in one hour- which is a bit long, but manageable if they are busy. When I arrived at the restaurant, exactly 3 minutes early from the specified pickup time, I proceeded to wait another 1 hour and 6 minutes for my (not large) order. I would have left, but I paid for it when I arrived (which I even provided a generous tip), and they kept saying "it will be right out!!".It was a combined 2 hours and 3 minutes from the time I placed the order, until I received it!! This is fried fish & chips, folks!By the time I got home, it was past my young kids bedtime, but they still needed to eat. This is no exaggeration. Furthermore, there was no apology, it just felt like we were a complete inconvenience to person who I presume is the owner. I was FUMING mad leaving... I will never, never, ever order from there again. Never. Just in case I wasn't clear: never, ever. Ever."
