""Ganslschmaus" at its best !This countryside restaurant 10 min away from Klagenfurt combines a lot : Great, authentic service, honest cooking with fresh ingredients from regional producers only, a nice intimate atmosphere with a lot of local people, a wonderful view to the close Italian/Slovenian borderline mountains and the Drau river !I was there last Sunday with my wife for lunch (reservation !): It wasn't our first visit so we were looking forward to a pleasant dining adventure, but I can tell you this time our expectations were exceeded by far: Beginning from the goose- and the meat strudel soup up to the roasted goose (+sweet chestnuts, red cabbage and dumplings) in its own juice and the boiled beef "The Bat" with fresh vegetables , horseradish, potatoes in home made beef soup and finally to the desert, apple with vanilla sauce we were served honest exquisitely prepared dishes with wine pairing and, thanks a lot,with no frill ! Addition: The staff in the restaurant is an experience of its own !This genuine dining experience for a very moderate price made our Sunday !We are already looking forward to the next gastronomic events perhaps in the form of pork and game feasts or the Meat Platter in this recommendable inn "Kirschnerhof".Thanks go to family Gross and employees !"
