"You’ve got to earn your seat at this mountain-top restaurant, either by hiking or biking up many kilometers of steep forest roads. But once you’re up there, especially on a beautiful sunny day, the memories of all that sweat and toil fade quickly as you...enjoy the panoramic view and the typical mountain restaurant food. The Alpe is open in the warmer months of the year (check the website to make sure which days, as this varies) and serves the usual mountain hut fare. We had a dumpling soup, which was good, and a portion of apple strudel, which was terrific. The coffee on the other hand was only average, but then we didn’t expect a barrista at such an elevation. The place was packed with exercise enthusiasts on our visit but as long as you don’t mind sharing a table, you can probably find somewhere to sit in the sun and enjoy the wonderful view of the Austrian Alps."
A visit to Alpe Weissenfluh is particularly valuable due to the large diversity of coffee and tea specialties.

"My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and loved everything about the place: a beautiful room, there was no tv which we were told about beforehand so no problem with us. As I still smoke I had asked for a room with a balcony which provided a fantastic view. The food was excellent so after traveling all day we happily returned every night for some great homemade food. All staff were most friendly and helpful - I'd return here gladly and can only recommend this place highly."
