"A beautiful hotel in the middle of the tranquility of nature! Already at the driveway, you will find an exceptionally decorative and traditional house that fits perfectly into the landscape. Nothing but nature! Nature, which invites you to relax, to linger, cycling or hiking, is also one of the great swimming pools. We expected a tastefully decorated room with a small forecourt to enjoy the beautiful evening mood. Friendly and helpful staff, from the young Sven to the boss Nicolas (who also helps the guest once a misfortune happens. Also the ladies and gentlemen at breakfast, dinner and at the reception met us every wish and could do all our concerns in no time. The breakfast buffet reads no wish. Everything was clean and in best quality. We chose half board because we don't like to drive in the evening. This has been fully proven. Excellent regional cuisine. Especially the varied cold soups did it to us! Unfortunately, because of the changing autumn weather we could only eat on the magnificent terrace outside to dinner. That was really awesome! A great hiking tip: The beautiful path right next to the hotel down to the river Dordogne in the town of Mauzac. There we enjoyed a fine lunch at the Italian restaurant/pizzeria Le Bella Ciao, among the shaded trees right next to the river (also well visited by locals! ."

"Been many times, our go to in the area. Can be a bit hectic, but this is proper 'Bistrot ' (Quickly . The staff are always running about, and I 've never seen them get an order wrong. The woman Maitre d ' (sorry i don 't know the feminine version in French is wonderful and very patient with her staff, even when things are busy. She always has time to make sure the customers are enjoying their meal. Note This is owned by the Vieux Logis across the road, and caters to a lot of the clients from there. On that basis, they have had to maintain a high standard. There is a very good, but limited menu. Because there is a limited choice, they do it all very well. Always check the specials, as there is often something new to try.. If you only stop here once, you must have the confit duck with the local potatoes. The house wines are surprisingly good, and it is worthwhile trying the pitchers of the local stuff. (red, white or rose . I 've mentioned the sommelier in my review of the Vieux Logis and I expect he is involved in the wine list here too (albeit being far less expensive!"

"Lovely food and setting by the river. They had vegetarian options on the menu. The staff were friendly and happy to let me practise my limited french I now know how to order a medium rare steak in French (Google is not always correct! . We had a lovely evening!"
