"We had sweet and sour pork balls last night from here and they were inedible. Big chunks of tough meat that you just couldn’t cut through with a knife, that I had to spit out as it was just fatty and chewy even looked disgusting when you pulled batter off on plate. Chicken and mushroom soup tasted nice but large chunks of chicken spoilt it ,should have been chopped a lot finer for a soup. Saving grace was the prawn chowmein that was ok. The last couple of times we have been disappointed with our takeaways from here but after last night will never use this takeaway again. It has gone really downhill as it use to be very good which is so disappointing"

"Wow! Proper Fish Chips! 4th takeaway and all equally delicious. Cod Haddock both cooked to perfection, fantastic batter and not too greasy. I don't normally go much on chips, but these are tasty as! I don't know how they do it, but taste for yourself and you'll agree, gourmet!"

"We moved into the area earlier this year and have visited The Chequers for dinner three times. Our most recent visit was the last Friday in the month which is Fish Chip Friday Excellent food on each occasion and absolutely hugh portions. A good...regular menu and specials board also. Prices are reasonable. Fabulous old country pub, good ambience and very good service. We love it here. Thank you Chequers!"

"I had the hunters chicken. Greasy bland and very pricey. No starters as the starters were as costly as the mains. Friend asked for a rare steak and got medium so had to send it back she then felt guilty about wasting meat. My partner had a burger. Small portion and very bland. He described he may as well have gone to mcds for half the price. Nice posh toilets so that helps. Drinks fairly priced. For a pub in the middle of no where it needs to rethink its priceing"
