"We sat for 20 minutes without as much as a bonjour or a menu that gives us. there were 4 other tables apart from us and when we were asked for a menu, I was told to wait as he was busy to serve. someone else. we have seen the menu, we were told to the bark that it was out and what was left was a fairly standard list of sandwiches and crepes. the waiter disappeared, so we went to the switch to order. "This restaurant must have one of the best views bar none, over the St Croix lake and high Alps beyond. The euro set menu is excellent too. Very helpful well humoured service put us on a table with brilliant views and swiftly took our...drinks order. Good descriptions of the available food followed. We all opted for the starter of the day followed by the main dish of the day. First was prawn, smoked salmon and flakes of white fish on a salad bed, with a lovely dressing. The waiter then came and told us that only main courses of the day remained, so my wife volunteered to have an entrecôte steak instead. When we were served good thick slices of fillet steak my wife looked downhearted, but he brought her Petit Entrecôte and handed her the biggest steak I've seen in France. Even better was the fact that there was no sinew in it at all. The accompanying veg was good too for France. We did vary our choices of dessert and all were fantastic. The house rose went down so well, we had to go for a second carafe. The price was nothing short of amazing, given how good the food was and the location. We are huge fans of this restaurant"
