"Cafe was very busy, but we have our main courses in about 15-20 minutes. that was in order, as we were warned, it could take a while. we had four main courses and this cost less than 30 pounds, including a single drink. all the dishes tasted good. the staff seems to be a little overwhelmed to busy times, but all I had to do was asked and the very helpful staff cleaned our table and the floor. everyone was very friendly and the staff was busy with regulars sitting around us. the food tasted good and was fed sharp. you have a tablet for your order. the line can take a while, but the wait was tidy and good nature! the menu had breakfast options, several main courses, salads, coffee, frappe etc. There are also prepared sandwiches, snacks, etc. if they are looking for a decent and inexpensive meal, this is an option in newbury, but they can visit to off-peak times."

"A lush dining room, a high-end hotel and some of the best service I had all year round, was the place for yet another of our Out-of-London luxury refugees. the restaurant at vineyard hotel has an interesting and quite topsy-turvy history. the chef chef here is daniel galmiche, who took over in 2010 by john campbell (now at the woodspeen). at the time the restaurant held two Michelin stars, but since john left, of course they both lost. it is definitiw not of two Michelin star standard now, but it is very close to eating a star and that is currently excellent. French in style and very classic. the dining room is also beautiful – it feels very expensive and opulent in all its size."

"What a cafe rouge does it, it does well. the French cuisine is always well served and tastes good. I think I like to have lunch there instead of eating, because my only criticism I really have is that it doesn't seem to be much active innovation in their menu. so I mean that I have been there a few times in the course of the year and not often there is a change of menu, it can be one or two new dishes, but not much. When you look at the menu, it is quite rational (which is not bad if you don't often visit) it can sometimes be felt as if you chose a dish instead of looking forward to choosing from numerous new option. do not let them stop this from a visit, although, as I said, what they do well. Steamed mush and the steak is always pleasant and their new (yes new) rindbourginonburger is beautiful as the regular version. the manager is always happy and offers great service."
