"Bij binnenkomst waren we even in verwarring: de auberge is het restaurant van een geitenboerderij die ook kaas maakt en buiten ziet alles er landelijk en kneuterig uit. Kom je echter binnen, dan beland je in een ruimte die met linnen tafelkleden, aparte wijnkoelers naast de tafels en andere attributen is aangekleed als een chique restaurant. Alleen ziet een beetje kenner meteen dat het merendeel van de inrichting van IKEA komt en niet echt chique is, maar zo wel wil overkomen (het systeemplafond doet trouwens ook af aan een echt chique sfeer). Nergens voor nodig ook om dat na te streven, als ze het een schuur hadden gehouden, was het meer kloppend geweest. En het allerbelangrijkste is het eten, want daarbij valt al het voorgaande in het niet. We namen het driegangen keuzemenu met twee bijpassende glazen wijn (in de Elzas, en met de enorme wijnkaart geen gek idee om het personeel de wijn te laten uitkiezen). Het was in één woord geweldig: van amuse tot het dessert (de chocoladefondant is om van flauw te vallen, zo lekker) één aaneenschakeling van culinair genieten: mooi afgewerkt, origineel, alle smaken kloppen bij elkaar. De prijs is aan de hoge kant, maar je krijgt absoluut waar voor je geld. Bovendien is de bediening vriendelijk en vakkundig en ook in het Frans zeer goed te verstaan omdat ze rustig spreken."
