"The menu offers a selection of Balkan and regional (Baden-W) food and drinks. A great combination that pleases all. The owner/personel is very friendly. The interior and atmosphere of the restauraint are great. In (hot) sommer time, the outside terras, aside the small stream (the "Glotter"), is the best place in town. Properly in the shade, one can enjoy the sound of the stream. The price/quality ratio is correct; better in balance compared to many other places in Glottertal. All kind of public will enjoy this place; couples, families, business people, and also locals (like ourselves)."

"Wir machten mit unserer Tochter eine Retrotour auf den Kandel und zum Fensterli-Wirt.Damals wohnten wir auf dem Rohrerhof der unterhalb der herrlichen Bergwiesen liegt.Nun fuhren wir auf den obersten Parkplatz und liefen zuerst zum Gipfel des Kandel ( Hausberg von Waldkirch und 1241m hoch gelegen ).Die Aussicht ist wirklich grandios da der Kandel von der Rheinebene direkt aufsteigt.Unsere Tour ging hinab zur Thomashütte die auf 1040m liegt und atemberaubende Ausblicke erlaubt. Nach einer kleinen Rast ging es wieder etwas auf gleichem Weg zurück und dann rechts weiter zur Gummenhofhütte bei der wir einkehrten und wiederum die Aussicht bei schönem Wetter genießen konnten. Der Fensterli-Wirt der hier aus einem ebenerdigen Fenster bewirtet ist ein Erlebnis für sich das sehr zu empfehlen ist !!!Von hier kann man auch ins Tal über die Bergbauernhöfe und St.Peter absteigen wenn man möchte.Wir sind dann gut erholt und gestärkt zum oberen Parkplatz des Kandel gelaufen.Ich kann mit gutem Gewissen diese Tour jedem ans Herz legen der eine schöne Halbtagestour mit vielen Berg-Erlebnissen möchte."
