"We managed to get a lunch reservation (all foreseeable evenings were fully booked). It's an adventure to actually get there via the signposts (mainly ignoring the satnav) and the bumpy track before walking down to an old style inn. The outside and inside already tickled my visual senses and the other senses were served during the meal. What an experience it was! Everything is in abundance and I could just imagine people eating the same food several hundreds years ago when it was also a place to eat. Make sure you find out the story behind the inn and the menu - it's worth it and you'll appreciate your experience all the more. What a fabulous end to our stay in the Dordogne!"

"A group of us has eaten here on a Saturday evening in February, because everywhere else sad the case in Belves was closed in winter. Our visit to the restaurant was closed for a function. "This place is a little off the beaten track but is worth the trip. We sat in the little shacks outside and enjoyed the quiet (aside from the dogs occasionally barking)! The service from the chef and, we assumed, the son, was very friendly. All the food we had was very well cooked but I think the desserts are really special so leave room for them! Good menu choice too and something for everyone."

"I was in the region by myself and wanted to go out for lunch. The 17 Euro menu du jour was excellent with a lentil veloute, a cod main and a fig desert. Service was professional and friendly. The wine list was short by the glass but some nice choices. I would certainly go back and enjoy a nice lunch. I suspect on a hot summers day there may be better choices but on a chilly Friday in February superb."
