"My partner and I were at this restaurant for lunch on our visit to Peggy's Cove. The building in which the restaurant is located has two parts: a large souvenir shop and its own restaurant. The food here was very good and our waitress was very nice and friendly. Although there were a lot of people, we were seated immediately. We waited a little longer for the food itself and then the bill, but otherwise everything was fine. Higly recommend."

"We came down to Peggy's Cove to see the sights and a friend recommended Shaw's landing. We stopped by and it was pretty good. The view was wonderful. Service was very friendly. We had mussels in white wine and garlic sauce which were very good...4.5/5, and the chowder. The chowder had good serving of lobster in it, but was a little too watery for my spouse's taste. 3/5. Then we had the fish cakes. The fish was fresh and the crust crispy. We really liked the tartar sauce. Could have used more seasonings. 4.5/5. For mains, I had a lobster "

"Went there for our anniversary. Wonderful place! Food was excellent, staff were so nice and thoughtful, and it's the best atmosphere for the price range. You can dress up or be casual. Beautiful drive so much better than going into the city for a place to eat. We only eat out once a year for the special day, and will certainly be back."

"To get into the restaurant, you have to walk up the stairs on the left. The inside is very beautiful, with a main level that has a few tables and a bar, and a staircase that goes to a second floor loft with a couple smaller tables and a big family table. We shared the Fish Chips, the brownie and the daily special which was the blueberry pie. The fish and chips came with 2 pieces of fish, the fish was well seasoned and fresh with a crispy thin batter. The fries had the most satisfying crunch to them and were not too salty. The brownie was hard on the outside and included a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle, and it was big enough for 4 people to share. The blueberry pie was a burst of flavour, it almost tasted like a crumbly blueberry cheesecake, not my personal favorite but equally delicious. We enjoyed the service and the server shared a lot of information on the history of the area with us, which was lovely. If you come here, make sure to take a photo on the green chair next to the mini lighthouse, and go into the gift shop for souvenirs and sweets."

"We just wanted a steamed lobster while in Halifax. Our family of five took a bus tour to Peggy's cove. We had an hour to eat. We were seated promptly. We were waited on relatively soon after sitting. We had to inquire about our food twice. It took forty five minutes to come, and they only had four orders. They lost one of our family member's order. The food was cold and a disappointment all around as we rushed to eat the food we did receive . There was little remorse or apology from the wait staff. We felt like true sucker tourists for eating at The Sou'Wester. I would never eat there again . I wish tour company should have warmed if the poor service and scant management oversight we would receive. I will also enter a complaint with the tour company"

"Dropped by this quaint little shop and enjoyed a cappuccino on the back deck. Quiet, calm, just relaxing and enjoying t he Nova Scotia sun. Had a wonderful chat with one of the staff here. She explained some of the area stuff. Very friendly and polite staff here.Totally worth dropping by and saying hi."
