"Stumbled into this out-of-the-way bar/restaurant quite by accident and had one of the very best meals of our two week trip to France and Spain. We were the only ones dining for a late lunch but there were a few locals at the bar. The chef-waiter-owner couldn't have been friendlier and was most helpful in guiding us on our menu choices. We had some lovely local wine while we waited for our meals and the veal with mushrooms and frites was AMAZING!! Simply AMAZING!! Montignac is a beautiful little town and our visit there was made all the more memorable because of this unexpectedly wonderful meal. If ever in the area again we'd make it a priority to return."

"Nous sommes rentré en voyant le panneau plat du jour a l extérieur bavette frite pour 8euro50, alléchant certes mais pour ce prix vous n avez ni le sourire ni l accueil chaleureux. On nous montre une table (sale) pour s installer depuis le bar puis nous donne les cartes direct même si nous avions demandé le plat du jour. Puis viens le moment de recouvrir la table sale de 2sets sans même la nettoyé. Suivi d un lâché de couvert. Nos plats arriverons rapidement et serons copieux et bons. Au moment de passer au dessert je demande une crêpe mais il y a plus. Reste le dessert du jour une part de flan pour 4euros 50. On refusera. Bref le prix et la qualité dommage qu il n y ai rien d autre autour"

Cela semble être dans la nature du lieu et de ses récents propriétaires. Soupe de potiron juste délicieuse, enchaud juste parfait accompagné par un gratin dauphinois que ma grand mère aurait pu sortir de la cuisine de ma grand-mère, fromage de chèvre bio superbe et tarte au pomme pour finir sur une note peu sucrée et parfaitement équilibrée. La salle aura besoin de se refaire une beauté sans doute, mais je fais confiance à ce jeune couple pour trouver le bon accord décoratif afin que la cuisine ressemble à la salle. Merci."
