"I love Mexican food just not at Maria 's Mexican Restaurant in Kauai. The entire restaurant smelled like one of those toilet bowl cleaners that cling to the bowl. (You know the kind you find in truck stops... The food was terrible. So terrible that we took one bite and left, telling the waitress and I forgot we had an important appointment story. Long story short: Don 't waste your time. This was the worst of the worst. It truly was That bad. My husband and I joke about it to this day. Do yourself a Big favor spend an extra 10 minutes driving into Koloa Town TomKats has the best food and atmosphere on the island."

"Good food. Wish had more spice. Was not as authentic as it claims. Seemed like most the food was from a can or premade and made bland enough for most people to like it. However from someone who sees the sign authentic Mexican to come in and get canned nacho cheese and not as fresh made and the salsa tasted like ketchup .. staff was really slow and to be honest seems to be not in the happiest."

"Horrible! The owner was extremely rude!!! We had a party of 6 my mom couldn't eat the food since she has to be on a strict gluten free diet. This is common and she brought an apple with her. The owner requested that she not eat the apple! We told her we were going to leave so we canceled our order and left! She was totally refusing to accommodate us and on top of that the restaurant only had one other table full! We have never been treated like this! Not only that, the restaurant was dirty but what do you expect!"
