"I 've been to this place twice and both were different experiences. The first time, I went at night with my sister around 9pm. We had a hankering for Korean food after watching the BTS Live view concert at The Commons movie theater, and this was one of the few Korean spots open that late. Walked in before closing, and was accommodated right away. My first impression of this place was the traditional cozy Korean mom and pop restaurant feel, which was nice. We ordered the Honey Garlic fried chicken and tteokbokki. The chicken was OKAY. It lacked flavor compared to one 's that I 've had at other Korean restaurants. The tteokbokki was amazing. The sauce had a perfect balance of spicy and sweet. It also came with fish cake mixed in, which was soo good. The service was a little lacking. The water is self serve, other than that don 't expect anyone to check on you and ask if everything is okay, bc you 're not going to get that. The lady that served us (who I 'm assuming is the owner) sat at the table next to us and watched TV, and didn 't really checking up on other customers. I also noticed that her demeanor changed a bit when an older Korean group walked in. She seemed significantly more accommodating and friendly if you were Korean/ spoke Korean which was a little off putting. Other than that portion sizes were enough for my sister and I to take home leftovers. The second time, I returned for the tteokbokki with my husband and daughter. Google said it opened at 2pm so my husband and I sat in the car and waited for the open sign to light up. It was already 2:15 and it was never turned on, so I decided to call. The owner answered the phone and I asked if they were open. She said yes, and just hung up lol. We walked in and kind of just stood at the front waiting for someone to greet us. She saw us and gestured us to sit anywhere. Not even a hello, or smile on her face. If anything she looked annoyed that we were there. We sat at our table and waited for her to come over. She saw my toddler playing with chopsticks like drums and told her to stop playing with it because she could get hurt. I understood her concern, but my daughter was gently tapping on her plate and not in an obnoxious way, but okay its coming from a place of worry I guess? Anyways, when we were ready to order she walks over and says what do you want? , making my husband and I feel more awkward/ uncomfortable. We ordered the soy garlic chicken/ original Korean fried chicken this time, and of course the tteokbokki. The sauces on the chicken were delicious, crunchy and full of flavor. The tteokbokki was delicious as expected, but the portion was smaller, then when I went the first time. The service was lacking, if not worse, than my previous experience. Again, we noticed she was way more cheerful and friendly towards her Korean customers. If the service was WAY WAY WAYYY better, then I 'd add this to my list of regular Korean spots. Unfortunately the uninviting environment has left a bad taste in my mouth."
