"My favourite sushi chain is Sushi Sushi. The sushi here is so fresh and they seem to be killing it here so basically my roll is made to order! Great service, tables are cleared quickly and there is always soy sauce bottles on the tables!"

"A casual spot with an almost homely feel to enjoy some tasty Thai dishes with fast service. Within minutes of placing the order the cook(? with a hairnet and gloves brought out level of tenderness and flavour. <br/ <br/ The duck curry was so delicious and deeply satisfying. Slices of duck were beautifully cooked to the right level of tenderness and flavour. The seafood curry was creamy and tasty with generous amounts of seafood. Paired with fragrant coconut rice, this was a scrumptious and filling meal. <br/ <br/ There was only one other table when we arrived. The place and menus look like they haven't changed for a couple of decades. Tasty food, polite and efficient service ensure we'll return when we just want a simple, good value meal out."

"First time at this restaurant which we found after looking around for a Thai place. We were warmly welcomed in by this charming lady should have asked her name but she offered a lovely service and checked in on us regularly.<br/ <br/ Food was beautiful, authentic taste, generous portions and well presented. The roti was yum and that peanut sauce is to die for! I had chicken cashew nut stir fry and my friend has Penang curry . We also shared an apple salad. We were so stuffed after we could barely move!<br/ <br/ The atmosphere is nice and quiet almost romantic place. It was not loud or super crowded just the right balance for an enjoyable meal on a cold rainy day!"

"I have eaten at Narai Thai literally dozens of times over the decades. It was one of the first Northcote/Thornbury haunts that wasn't a pub, and it effectively set the standard for the area. On a recent visit we agreed that we had never had a bad meal here. Yes, the service can vary, but the food is always good and as it's still BYO, an evening here is good value.The night we were there consisted of two big tables - a hen's night and a birthday group. Although it was noisy, we still had our order taken and received our meal in acceptable timeframes. We had the curry puffs and the prawns wrapped n spring roll wrappers to start. Both were great. As was our pad thai with prawn and a yellow beef curry. This is a local worth going back for."

"One of my neighbours loves this place. It is always full of students as it is cheap. In summer the outside street flows with tables. The food is somewhat average. Yet people love it as it does not cost much and no one complains if...your kids are a bit noisy."

"Tried this based on the 4.2 Zomato rating. Sat down and had a little heart flutter because the menu had a few Malaysian crossover dishes and I’m always worried about eateries that try to cover too many bases. We ordered the fish cakes and whilst they were tiny, had the perfect texture and flavour like you’d expect in Thailand. The chicken rolls wrapped in roti and drizzled with satay sauce were also delicious although a tad overpriced at $14 for two. For mains we ordered the green chicken curry and crab fried rice. The curry dish was quite small and I had another little heart flutter when I thought perhaps we haven’t ordered enough. But it was damn tasty and very satisfying! There wasn’t a huge amount of crab in the fried rice but they went perfectly together. This was a really good meal and we were thoroughly happy!"
