"I was visiting Ballymena on a half-day trip from Belfast doing some genealogy exploration in the area. I stumbled upon the Fern Room atop the McKillan shoe store (probably one of the largest shoe stores I've ever been in, btw). I was anticipating a quaint,...lacy, antiquey type of tea room, but its more like a cafeteria. Little ambiance. Small salad bar, some hot foods. Honestly nothing appealed to me so I chose a scone and bottle of water. The scone was fine, nothing special, but did the trick for me. Several tables of people (mostly women) who looked to be taking a shopping break. Its certainly well located for that."

"By far the best restaurant in ballymena. We always call for Sunday lunch and have yet to leave disappointed. We have tried nearly everything on the menu by now and the kids love it also! Very generous home made meals. Highly recommend"

"Sadly, not even a cheap Christmas cracker on the table, a wee mince pie with the coffee and tea, or even an annoying “Last Christmas” or “Jingle Bells” in the background. That said, the food was great and the staff were lovely even though the only sign it was our staff Christmas Lunch was my Santa hat and a collection of festive jumpers!"

"Had a lovely meal there last Saturday night, the peppered chicken and mash was delicious and the sticky toffe pudding was lovely and huge portions. The staff were really friendly, couldnt fault the place, will defo be back"

"My wife and I called here on the recommendation of a friend. We wanted a more substantial lunch than just our usual sandwich. She had the Chicken Maryland with garlic wedges which had a large chicken fillet with sausage, bacon, pineapple and banana fritters as well as peas and a wee bite of salad. There was a generous portion of large potato wedges doused in garlic butter. I had the breaded chicken goujons with chilli potato wedges which offered 5 large goujons with a wee bite of salad and a generous portion of large wedges doused in chilli sauce. This was excellent food at very reasonable prices and offered a very substantial meal. Very highly recommended!!"
