"We have lived and worked in France, speak French fluently and have visited hundreds of restaurants over 40 years. This was our worst experience because it seemed deliberate. Expressionless waiter took order for pre dinner drinks, wine and food. Wine came in seconds, drinks after...three requests during meal, three ordered two delivered, waiter claimed we hadn't ordered another. After average main course, table not cleared and menu not given. After about 20 minutes we had to ask three times for the bill. Eventually went to counter, where waiter placed card in machine and left to talk to friends! Returned after 4-5 minutes, laughing and saying excuse me' in English despite entire transaction being in French. Our impression was that this was a deliberate slight as other customers who seemed local were not treated in this way."
