"Simply disappointing. We came recommended and excited by some press articles listing good restaurants in the province with no Michelin stars, and also to celebrate a birthday. The place is amazing with a pool as well, and a wonderful park where you can eat or walk under the pines. However, the staff was cold and not welcoming. The proprietor (a woman) was very cold. Once we decided what dishes to order, we asked them to take our order, then we discovered that what we had ordered had been sold. The surprise came later when we saw this same dish on other tables that came next to us. This was not the only error, after ordering a salad with arugula, Parmesan and strawberries, my wife did not find any of the strawberries . After discussing the incident with the homeowner, she replied that they were very small and could be mixed with the arugula. I had to be serious to say that the strawberry red would stand out with the rocket green. We just had an excuse for her, and she didn 't say goodbye when we left. The problem with these places is that if the staff isn 't nice, the time you spend there (even though the food and place are great) doesn 't leave you with a good impression."

"This is a completely unpretentious little restaurant serving typical plain Spanish food. But here the chef cares about what he is doing, and it shows. When we sat down he greeted us with a handshake. We shared a lovely salad with grilled goat's cheese and then had pork and rabbit a la plancha. Both perfectly seasoned and cooked, both served with excellent home-made chips and allioli. The desserts are all mass-produced but I never expect much from dessert menus in Spain, and they don't detract from the rest. No menu del dia but food and wine are reasonably priced.More handshaking as we left with a promise to be back. A great midway stop on a circular walk from las Illas to La Vajol."

"We chose from the a la carte menu rather than the 12euro set price one,and the food was well cooked ,and served quickly by friendly staff.The calves liver I had was very tasty,and my starter of canelloni was pleasant,if somewhat dry,and all the people in our party were reasonably happy.The real problem was the plague of flies which our companions said had been sent to prepare them for a forthcoming trip to Africa.I suppose this is the penalty you have to pay for the view across Darnius lake,but it put me off the idea of going there again."
