"Visiting Australia went for a family lunch. The service was exceptionally slow despite the restaurant being half empty. Some guests had soft drinks, with glasses. There were no glasses or clean bottles available for those who asked for plain water, although bottled water was made available about half way through the meal. The order of a spicy chicken wrap, crispy bacon and caramelised onions , no chips, arrived with chips, limp barely cooked bacon, and the portion of onions was so scarce as to be almost non existent. I did not complain at the time because the meal was a treat from my daughter."

"Surprisingly modern food in a medieval town. A special treat. The dining room is smart and reflected the high aspirations of the chef but rather soulless. The food was excellent, with imaginative combinations. The wines were fantastic the local Chardonnay that we had was...so good that I went out and bought a few bottles the next day."

"We love this place. Really lovely warm and welcoming staff. Cosy and warm inside and if sitting outside they have rugs for if you need extra warmth in Autumn/Winter. We have been buying our takeaway coffee here for a while, is always excellent. Today we decided to have a lazy Sunday late breakfast and have our coffee in for a change. It was superb. Perfectly poached eggs and their house made sour dough is delicious. We can't wait to work our way through the menu."
