"Our adventure on Christmas Eve to the Black Forest was more like a visit to a castle in Transylvania. Our greeter If you can call him that was an old man with a black eye that resembled Igor in the Frankenstein movies who directed us very wearily to our table. Next an old lady who was probably his wife gave us our menus. Unfriendly also, she reminded us of the nasty woman in those old castle movies. Our server who spoke with a broken accent we could hardly understand may have been their son who lived in the dungeon. He was no gem either and seemed to have no patience for us. Now to the food.. Our sons who are vegetarians had only one choice, a vegetable platter. Well, some of the vegetables had to be right out of a can and the rest were either steamed or cooked so much they tasted soggy or way overcooked. My wife ordered a ...... which was thin and also overcooked. All you could taste was the crust or breading. Her salad with uneatable cherry tomatoes could have been taken from a bag from Walmarts* that sat too long. I ordered their homemade bratwurst blend. It had very little taste and no spicy flavoring. Even the store brand at Kroger's grocery store is better than that. The meals weren't cheap either. Needless to say, it was a very disappointing evening in the wonderful Colorado mountains. I bet could have eaten better at Frankenstein's Castle. Maybe someone will take notice and tell those folks how unwelcome the place is."

"My partner and I walked in. There were two other tables and one waitress who was chatting with one of the other tables. We waited a long time without even being greeted. Then someone came in after us and the waitress ignored us and greeted him, got him drinks, and took his order all while we were still waiting just to be greeted. That's the point when we decided to leave. We also overheard her calling an employee and asking them to get the cheapest available bacon because they were all out. I suspect the quality of the food is not great based on that indication. Note: This is from a visit before they closed, but thanks for your gracious response, business owner. We will certainly not try the new ownership, thank you."

"Oh my goodness, I loved this place!! We were out for a snowy mountain drive and I really wanted a coffee. This place is adorable! They have the most amazing little shop in here with amazing books, journals, trinkets, stickers, and so much more! I could have spent an hour in here and not seen it all. It 's definitely the small town shop that we all need more of. The people were unbelievably friendly, and I just felt at home even though it was my first visit. I 'm a black coffee gal, but that seems pretty difficult to find. So we can 't quite call it a coffee shop but they have coffee adjacent drinks that are good. I had a latte with almond milk, and it warned me right up. And the best part? They have pup cups! The doggie was super happy too! I 'm looking forward to driving up again with a little more time to browse. Cute little stop and definitely a must-see!"
