"We spent a week in Scuol attending the Allegri Allegra music festival where the Allegri String Quartet performed at 10:00 and 17:00 in many venues in the En valley.We walked a lot and took to buying sandwiches in a local supermarket.On our last day we went into the Café Benderer, which is next door for a quick sandwich lunch before we had to catch our train and were delighted to be ushered into the supermarket next door.There is a counter selling quiches, sandwiches and cakes and we selected one of the tasty sandwiches made on fresh local bread and a ham filled croissant together with good coffee from the café.It was very good and reasonably cheap...for Switzerland"

"The hotel itself is beautiful. Nice staff at reception, but probably a bit inexperienced. The room was very nice and we received a free upgrade. Thank you again for this! That was great too closed bike cellar for our bikes. Breakfast would be very nice, but the staff there was very careless. And a filter coffee at these prices is somehow not possible. What really annoyed me was that I gave my voucher code when booking (as requested). Nevertheless, the amount was not only reserved on my credit card, but also booked. The money was only credited back to my bank account after repeated inquiries on site and then also by email. We have been to Scuol very often and have been for many years. "We have a drink on the terresse. it was a beautiful day, so we thought we would go to what is supposed to be the most beautiful place of the city. the drinks were completely watered. the waiting staff was completely unorganized and asked us several times how many drinks we had (they had always mixed us with other tables). they tried to invite us for dinner when we had nothing. only completely unorganized and extremely unprofessional. we had a coffee lutz, that was probably the most disgusting drink I ever had. the coffee tasted like he was burned. only a very unpleasant experience. especially because they claim to be a high end. I will never go back and I will never recommend anyone to stay there."

"Having been in Switzerland for nine days, my wife was longing for Raclette, but to our surprise it is increasingly hard to find in the Engadin. Villa Maria, in the tiny village of Vulpera in the Unter-Engadin, was recommended to us by the owner of a near-by hotel that where we were staying and we were not disappointed. The Raclette was prepared by the charming owner of the hotel who sources the Raclette cheese from a favoured supplier in the Valais. It is served in the traditional manor with small boiled potatoes, gherkins and white onions and was absolutely delicious and a perfect lunchtime reward after a mountain hike."
