"I just visited Carmen 's this afternoon for lunch. The experience can be summed up in one word: TERRIBLE. They were not crowded (this should have been my fist clue) and we still had to wait several minutes for someone to notice us so we could be seated (keep in mind, there were many servers standing around watching us). We get sat in the booths behind the bar and wait several minutes for someone to bring us chips and salsa and take our drink orders. I got water, which the server mistakenly took for seltzer water. I switched to sweet tea, which was very good; one of the only positive things I can say. We ordered Carmen 's Dip which was unseasoned ground beef amidst a pool of grease, on top of cold cheese dip. Upon receiving this, we wait a further 10 minutes or so to have our order taken, where we proceed to find out that you are not allowed to get one chicken and one beef tamale, you have to pick one meat. I asked for the burrito combo (no. 5) and asked for a bean burrito and beef tacos. I was told this was not allowed and I had to pick either beef or beans. I selected beans. After 30 or so minutes we finally get our food. My husband 's tamales were soggy and had no flavor (we tried asking for salsa, but gave up after 40 minutes). I attached a picture of my food. Bean burrito with nothing but a tortilla and beans, bean tacos with nothing but beans, onions, and taco shell, and rice. All the beans were cold. I ate the rice and gave up on the experience. Thankfully, Wendy 's is down the road. Will not be back unless I hear that they have turned their wait staff and kitchen around, which is a shame, because the other location used to be amazing."

"I feel like the biggest fool for not trying Carmen's sooner. The food is amazing and the service is especially friendly which is a big deal in my opinion, next to the quality of the food. My server was a beautiful lady named Damariz, and she was attentive and friendly. I definitely will be returning to dine again soon. The happy hour specials was exactly what I liked, and the food is fresh and flavorful, and the prices are reasonable.
