"We thought the Murtarol was outstanding in the past. Recently, we had a strange experience for lunch- the older waiter didn't bring us menus or water for an hour! The next day, because of the glorious weather and lovely outdoor patio, we couldn't resist returning...for lunch. This time we moved to the section of tables being served by younger waiters and were served more quickly. The food was also delicious on the second day- prawns on a Thursday weren't fresh but delicious on Friday- apparently they are no longer making daily fish runs to Milan. Wonderful, unusual goat cheese in a salad- mild and crumbly."

"Very old fashioned place with senior citizen guests, probably without any worries about what things cost. Great staff and extensive beverage menu makes it worth a visit. We only had drinks (and indoor smoking! , so this rating is obviously based solely on that. I bet the hotel is pretty luxurious based on its magnificent location and lounge areas. Got rid of lots of SFR in a very short time ;"

"I had dinner there with friends. We decided to hike up, 30 minutes up the mountain uphill following little lanterns. They also offer other options to get there. We were the first guests to arrive and were greeted by the owners. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Cute little rooms. The food was great, a menu of 4 courses. We had bruschetta, a sole fish appetizer followed by steak. Dessert was cheese followed by yogurt with fruit. Excellent meal. Plenty of beverage choices. The meals are selected daily by the chef so there is no menu. Still great food. Requires reservations. They also offered additional food that they made extra. When we left for our easier hike down, the owners thanked us again."
