"We ate with The Shanty twice. We ate there for lunch and knew we had to go to dinner again the night before we left The Eastern Shore. The staff was wonderful and we had the best seafood at the Eastern Shore. The dough on fried shrimps, oysters and scallops was the best. The old bay that spiced on the Pommes was also a pleasant surprise"

"OMG! This place does not surprise us! We've come since they opened. 27 years coming to Cape Charles, we have seen many, many places coming and going. This place is phenomenal. It's local. It's small. Don't go if you think food in fast food time... It's not fast food people. Even the veggies should die. Love this place!"

"When we got to the restaurant I asked if they were still serving breakfast and the waitress snapped at me and said “no!”. The waitresses all have bad attitudes and poor customer service. We ordered coffee and we’re served with styrofoam cups and not offered cream or sugar. When I asked for cream and sugar the waitress acted very bothered. We placed our order and waited….and waited….and waited. A waitress came by and said “Did you already order?”. We said yes. She went back into the kitchen and came back out to tell us they had lost our ticket and had not been making our food. After sitting there for 45 min we left. The waitresses couldn’t have cared less. There were 2 waitresses and the place is tiny and maybe had 1/2 of the tables occupied. There is no reason that we couldn’t have gotten better service other than they don’t care if they have your business or not. Don’t waste your time!This was on Saturday."
