"The best fish and chips in Barrie!!! I have tried 4 others, and this place has not only the little fat frit, but the staff is amazing and feels like family. The price is a few dollars more, but the portions size and thickness of the Halibut is worth it. Long family owned history and they still cut their halibut by hand every day. Also great handcuffs. I try to reduce my gluten and they can also make the dough extra light. Will be back soon."

"We have several dish and chip places in Barrie like to try them all ! Well Fancys has to be the bottom of the list fist taste like the use frozen chips for sure no fresh potatoes The fish has so much batter you cak hardly find the fish,I went I tried and will not go back really frozen chips in a fish and chip store.They say they have been in business for years I don't know how....."
In pleasant weather you can even have something in the outdoor area.

"I spotted Choi's Fish N' Chips while walking Cundles Road East and decided to stop for a quick lunch. The restaurant is a husband and wife operation; he does the cooking and she takes orders and delivers them to the table. The interior is fairly standard... order/service counter at the entry, seating accomodates up to 28 customers at 7 tables for four. One wall has been decorated with a nautical theme. Quiet unobtrusive background music. I also spotted a child high chair along one wall.Menu was fairly standard Fish & Chips fare... including options of Halibut, Haddock and Cod with French fries and poutines. One unexpected addition for a Fish & Chips restaurant... a full range of 20 different flavors of ice cream. Also an option of an all-beef hot dog for anyone who did not want fish... so definitely child friendly. Menu pricing standard good value.Counter greeting was friendly. I opted for two pieces of fish (Cod) without fries and a can of soda pop and then seated myself at one of the tables where I found an assortment of cutlery stacked in a holder. When the meal arrived, the basket held two impressively large pieces of battered fish. The batter was very good, an herbed variation of the classical English style batter, crisp, crunchy and tasty, not too thick, not too oily. However, this very good batter also enveloped a fair amount of air... the portion of enclosed cod was less impressive than the first impression... and unfortunately also mushy. Bottom line... an OK experience but not on my list of will return destinationsl"

"This is my go to place when I want fish and chips, always delicious and fresh. The fries are crispy and never soggy, the fish is lightly battered and plentiful. The battered mushroom are out of this world. The platter is my favorite and so much food you can share it. Best fish n chips in Barrie."
