"I wish my poke bowl had had some sauce on it. It was so dry!! After I finished it (adding my home soy sauce so it wasnt totally flavorless), I found some sauce for it inside my dessert container. Eyeroll. The fish tasted fresh enough, but sort of preserved."

"I 'm from NYC and have had incredible sushi throughout my life. This is definitely the best sushi in all of Pittsburgh. The fish quality is so good and the owner gets the fish from Japan. Prices are super reasonable. The portions are MASSIVE and the lunch special is such a great deal.The owner runs the shop on his own so service can be slow but he is the sweetest person ever. While we were there he gave us two miso soups and a pack of hichews for free. We also overheard the next table saying "I 've been here five times and every single time the owner always does something nice. "Support local!! This place is the best!!!!"

"Hokkaido reminds me of my high school years living with my mom. We fought a lot, sometimes we didn?t talk to each other, but my mom was, and still is my best supporter. Some days I just asked my mom to go Hokkaido, and she would always say yes and drivethirty minutes for me. Yesterday was the first time in four years that I have stopped by Pittsburgh since I left for college.This time, I was by myself because my mom went back to Korea and the rest of my family are in Korea. I ate quietly, and lookedaround the place while eating, thinking about where we sat when we were here. It?s so cliche, but after all those boring andmundane days has past, I only realized that those good and relaxing days spent with my mom is never coming back. Hokkaido maynot be the best quality sushi buffet, but I can picture my mom?s love towards me whenever I think about the place."

"Delicious dumplings! The soy dipping sauce for pork dumplings was fermented just enough with some fresh green onions. The restaurant was takeout only (still) and incredibly busy. Orange chicken okay. Thick breading that got a little soggy with the sauce. Steamed white rice pint was sticky, but hot. The noodles in chicken lo-mein were gummy and sauce was tasteless. Kids wouldn't eat it. May go back but, other restaurants on the same street are better and less expensive."
