"I have to write this as yet again have used this chip shop and been more than disappointed. When freshly cooked the food is okay. Years ago, fish was skinned, but not sure about now. That was a bonus. As others say, large portions of chips, but no good if they’ve been sitting there, keeping warm. This was my local chip shop and have been going there for many years, but it’s pot luck, very hit and miss, and time of visit determines the quality of the food. We’ve tried all permutations! In the past we’ve been served, warmed up items early evening, just after opening.On one occasion we had to take food back. Another time threw it away. If you go in probably 1/2 hour after opening, the food, providing freshly cooked, is good, but when time goes on I can only presume that the food is left sitting there! Battered sausages served recently were like rubber with terrible batter, and fish cakes, hard, terrible! The chips were scrappy. It’s just not good enough! The other shops in the area cook to order, so that the food is fresh. It’s no use serving loads of chips if they are not nice! Some of the food is cooked when they open it seems and left in a cabinet. If you go in at around 1pm this problem can occur, the fish at that time is cooked to order, we think, it’s more the sundries that sit there for a long time. We’ve had fish that’s terrible and sausages also fish cakes. Hadn’t been for a long time before this visit, but no change so will not return any time soon. Having said this the people are pleasant and it’s a very clean environment."

"3.80 lunch meat (battered sausage chips) £1.45 curry sauce (this place takes card payments) not a bad price and was also all freshly cooked, this meant waiting outside for 5 minutes (due to covid) but it is nice to see them according to rules and to allow only 1 person in a time. also the quality of food was good, and the portion size, although not massive, I would say the perfect size, especially for lunch. a thing that made this place/meal point out was the face that it was placed in a cardboard box instead of being thrown into a paper pack. the curry sauce was actually sauce and not watery as some place, it could be used to their chips, which was good. I would rate this place 9/10 and the only reason I have labeled it below is because the broken sausage was quite fat, which they are always, but that was a little extra fat compared to normal"

"Great fish and chips. In response to a comment about having no fish ready, they cook it fresh for you, which takes 4-5 minutes, so whatever time you go in whether it's a busy or quiet period you'll know what you are getting is the freshest cooked fish, which in my opion is worth the few minutes wait."

"I visited ocean city fish and chip shop on a Saturday night, after a very long day to watch football. the menu was very traditional with a large selection of fish, cake and soft drinks. the staff was very nice and friendly. the prices were very favorable for the area, the service was fast and very efficient. there was no waiting time, but that could have been different if we had gone to teetime. there are some rooms to park outside the chip shop that is free, so it is good to eat a quick bite."
